I’m still a relative “Newbie” and this is the first time I’ve participated in this daily challenge.
First, I had a wonderful time touring NikiÂ’s gallery and her blog site. Niki, your cards are terrific and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit!
I chose Niki’s “Hello” card for my inspiration to make a card for a friend who is in the hospital. I used her basic design but with an Asian theme.
What I changed: I used pink, green and white as my color combination. Instead of a daisy, I used cherry blossoms and the Chinese symbol for ‘health’ for my greeting. I was making a smaller version of the card so instead of stamping the background with cherry blossoms, I used a smaller floral sprig that I thought would be less overpowering. And when I assembled the parts, I took some liberties with the proportions and exact placement of the individual components.
Stamps: small flower sprig #550-D03 (from Posh Presents by All Night Media); “strength” from LL592 Tiny Chinese Wishes (Hero Arts); Cherry Blossoms (Rubber Stamped)
Paper: Scraps of forest green, white, and light pink card stock and a scrap of green and pink plaid
Ink: Bronze Ink Dot
Techniques: basic stamping, image with colored pencils
